You will always walk with us, Corey My Heart

We are mourning passing of our Corey that was taken away from us way too soon and shockingly fast at 9 1/2 years of age. We needed him far longer than that, but we are grateful for the time we had him in our lives. Corey was the most generous and precious gift from Francois that made our life full of joy and happiness. Everything Corey did, he did 11o percent - show championship and AOM at the specialty, field title with scores that placed him in 3nd place in top 10 pointing dogs in 2002, second to his family member Steel. He loved to hunt and had the most amazing nose and range, we used him to take the young ones out. He was our guardian, staying in the house during the night, coming to warm my feet in the morning, always under the blankets. He was the greeter of visitors, always inviting and gentle. He was the great ambassador of the breed, generous in spreading the love and show of temperament and everyone that knew him loved. We have many, many stories to remember him by. Funny stories and poignant stories.  He is the majestic, classic Vizsla head in our logo, he is our Corey Ou Heart and we would not change a thing in our life with him, although we grieve, we rejoice in the richness Corey's of love and devotion brought to us.

As he watched over us, he also guarded the puppies, pushing them away from the edge of the pool and I will never forget him standing on 2 opposing feet in the whelp box while checking out puppies, so as not to step on them. He didn't leave any progeny (as he was to be bred, he fell ill) and his passing left us with huge hole in our life, our hearts are full of memories of the gentleman he was. Corey can never be replaced and he will always walk with us. God Speed our Prince, our love is with you for always and you will always be with us.

Corey a.k.a. My Heart (or S.W.)

It was love at first site between Corey and us at the Caledon KC  show in November 1999. Sadly, his original owner passed away when Corey was six months old and he needed a new home.  Francois Bernier (Corey's breeder) has brought Corey to us that Christmas of '99  and tied a big red bow around his neck. What a present! Corey is a late bloomer. He has a regal head and bearing, his head drawing is in our logo graphic. He takes his time to accomplish things, but then he does, he does them perfectly. He has finished his Can CH in very few shows, won Award of Merit at VSO Specialty in 2001 and this year finished his FDJ title in 3 straight passes, earning High Score in Trial and tying with Steel. He took a while to warm up to the field work, but now he excels in it - just ask his trainer, John Reid! Corey is a life-saver, he saved our cat Nikita from strangulation few days after he got here and he is a sweet and gentle dog. He has grown up to be the most excellent companion and friend, someone we can trust to protect and love us and make us proud in anything he decides to do - now or in the future - his US CH, going for his Field dog titles or starting agility this fall.
