The first thing I would do...

Friday, March 20, 2015

The first thing I would do, if you have not already done so, is order the booklet that the CKC/AKC publishes on Rules and Regulations for CKC Field Test/AKC Hunt Tests and read it. You can also find the schedule for field / hunt tests on the CKC/AKC website to see what is in your area. You may want to attend one and ask lots of questions before entering, and/or join the local Vizsla club if there is one in your area, and find a mentor in the club. Your mentor should be someone who does the advanced titles as well as the FDJ/JH titles. I can't tell you how much BAD advice I've heard given from one FDJ/JH handler to another. You can get bad advice from other handlers also, but the chances lessen with more experience.
