Steel was a very sound female. She has finished her Championship at 13 months in limited showing with BOB's, BOS, Best Puppy in VC Specialty and BPIG at the large show in Oakville, she has also placed 4th in Sweeps at US Nationals from a large entry, judged by long-time breeder judge and Vizsla book author, Marion Coffman. She has an effortless, reaching stride and a great side movement. Steel just floats around the ring, top line not moving. She is very muscled and in top condition and she exhibits great stamina and style in the field. Not only does she have a great laid back, cuddly personality at home and at social gatherings, she is affectionate and learns easily. But put her at the edge of the field and she changes in front of your eyes into the "Steel Wonder" hunting machine. Steel came to us at 6 moths old from Onpoint kennels and won us over with her sweet personality. She would wrap herself around Frank's neck (he was her favorite) like a shawl. She was awesome hunter and mother of beautiful dogs, our first three litters were from her. Steel took US by storm in 2003! Steel placed 4th at Michigan Vizsla Club field test in Open Gun Dog Steel was awarded Best of Winners at Echo Hill KC show for her first 4 point Major and started her adult US show carrier with a bang! Steel was BOW at Michigan Vizsla Specialty in July for her second 5 point Major! She ran and placed at US field trials and she finished her FDJ in Canada in 3 straight runs with high scores. She was a hunting machine and would participate at Field Trials while for a run at Highland Park when there was a FT and they found her on point and asked us to pay the entry fee next time! 🙂 2003 - Steel places 2nd in CKC Pointing Dog standings for 2002 out of 422 FDJ dogs Field Trials 2003: Steel places 4th in Open Gun Dog stakes in Michigan Vizsla Club Field Trial in US Field Trials 2002: Steel places 4th in Open Puppy at her first Field Trial at Old Dominion Vizsla Club Field Tests: Steel finishes her FDJ in 3 straight passes and with 3 Highest Qualifying Scores of 96/100, 98/100 and 96/100 and winning the top honors in all 3 test runs What a dynamo in the field! We used to call her Our Steel Wonder! On September 21, 2002 she has produced a great litter of 6 boys with Toldi - Toldin's Own litter - Ripper (BISS, FD), Altin, Hudson, Csaba, Rough and Avery. On September 27, 2003 Steel produced a litter of 5 girls and 3 boys. This was repeat breeding with Toldi - Toldin's Steel litter is named in honor of their dam. Her daughter Tula went on to win US Nationals Winners Bitch at 2005, the only Canadian Vizsla female to ever win this honor, Heart (CH, FDJ, JH), Hummer (CH, FD), Max (CH, JH), and others. Her third litter in Feb 2005 produced our Jas and her sister Maia who is the Master Hunter, Senya, Ringo among others. Sadly, we lost Steel suddenly in 2012, 3 weeks past her 12th birthday to aggressive form of cancer. We miss her, but we see her sweet personality and field ability in her children and grandchildren.
